The Collier Soil and Water Conservation District (CSWCD) is now accepting applications to fill the position of TECHNICIAN with the MOBILE IRRIGATION LABORATORY (MIL).
This project is funded on a year to year basis covering 5 counties (Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades). Continued funding is possible however it is not guaranteed. This position will require EXTENSIVE fieldwork.
Experience in data collection, analysis and interpretation of data, and the ability to prepare reports from data collected in the field on various types of agricultural irrigation systems is helpful. A degree in environmental science, hydrology, horticulture, agriculture or related field is desirable. Prospective candidate will be expected to engage in public speaking and enjoy working with the public, be able to communicate effectively in writing, and be a self-starter. Must be computer knowledgeable. Valid Florida driver’s license required. Starting annual salary range is $27,000 – $30,000. Offerings include vacation time accrued at 4.0 hours every 2-week pay period, sick time accrued at 4.0 hours every 2-week pay period, 10 paid holidays per year, contribution to health insurance and retirement in the Florida Retirement System.
